Why were they there? Why couldn't they have stayed in their house, with the fluffy beds, and the housefolk that would stroke them? Turning back to look at her mother and siblings her eyes rolled with boredom. It seemed as if her mother and siblings were walking like slugs. They had been traveling for sometime and had found this place. Their mother had forced herself into hunting, taking to climbing trees and finding eggs and small birds to catch, she had little skill otherwise. Enough to sustain them for a bit, but not forever. Their mother had warned them about the scent of other cats and not to stray, but they would not dare mess with her. She was Leaf, the Great.
Leaf could not help but wander. They were so far away from everything, what would it hurt? She could find her mother again, her scent was clear int he crisp mountain air. Besides they would be returning home soon, wouldn't they? She hoped so, the kit was rather small and worried the cold would stunt her growth. She wanted to be massive, like the pictures of tigers and lions the housefolk had up. They were incredible cats, and the kit liked to think their father was a tiger, their mother never mentioned him, so he must be some great cat. It was a secret, that was why she could not tell. A secret that their father was one of the great cats.
Flicking her dark amber eyes over she spied another frozen clump of the heavy, cold, white, frozen stuff her mother had called snow. The kits had not been allowed to touch it, but her mother and siblings were not there. No one could stop her, she mused with an evil smirk. What could be better? A little mischief. She was just an innocent kit that did not know any better after all. She could already imagine the scolding from her mother, dismissing it with her thick tail. An after thought.
Trotting over to the pile the thick pelted nearly pure white kit disregarded anything her path that a clan cat would have noticed. Particularly as she snapped twigs, trotted over grass and jumped into a shrub, finally making it to the snow. Crouching the she-cat wriggled her rump, tail waving excitedly as she launched into the cold snow. The feeling was exhilarating, she had only been allowed to dip a paw in at first, now her body was covered. Shivering she let out an excited squeak, scaring off any prey that may have been left in the area. Why was this fun? She was simply rolling in cold water, luckily she had her thick pelt, perhaps it was truly enjoyable because of the rules she was breaking. The adventure she was having.
If she were more attentive she might have noticed the scents. The markers she had crossed uncaringly and unnoticed. The voices of warriors and an apprentice, they undoubtedly noticed her. As the kit frolicked in the snow she felt not a care in the world. She began rolling in it, enjoying the cool feeling it placed on her fur. Yet she soon slipped out of it, feeling the cold begin to seep onto her skin. Ruffling her thick fur, the she-cat examined herself, the snow had given her white body a sheen to it, with her black and tan marked head and tail, she examined herself proudly. Looking around she pondered what else to do, before spying a leaf. Crouching she tried to mimic the painting of the tiger crouching, she felt she had gotten it right, probably not, as she stalked forth. Her tail flicked everything and anything as she finally pounced on the leaf claiming it as her kill.

“My paw hurts!! I stepped on it during training and like ow ow owww!” “Urghhhh, got a tick, can you scratch my back? Right her- no here! Not there you fool! There!!” “AIEEEEEEEEEEE!! Chipped my claw, Adderstone, do something!” Ugh. It was always heal me this or Adderstone ow the pain that. And now she was off on a voyage to the Sunrise Shores simply because yet another mouse-brained cat had required some seaweed that would douse the pain from his… tail. As if one’s tail could be that bothersome. By StarClan she wished she could simply claw his tail off! It would solve all of his problems and hers in a right jiffy. But oh StarClan forbid she would be demoted from her worthy and reverent title of Medicine Cat faster than she could unsheathe her claws. Medicine Cat. Small wonders how she even achieved such a position.
The haughty-looking tabby she-cat continued to trample over the strangely, pre-carved path that led to the ocean. Peering ahead through a swirling fog, she sniffed the salt-riddled air. Gross. And what was all that mush she was stomping over!? Apparently, the weather conditions at SoulClan still hadn’t realized that Leaf-bare was long gone, a memory from the past. And yet snow was still to be discovered in clumps of glistening ivory. “Go away snow! Don’t you know it’s Newleaf already!!” she yelled, the stress from suddenly having huge Medicine cat responsibilities shoved onto her showing. Stupid mouse-brained Gazelleheart for retiring.
Adderstone pressed onwards, her paws kicking up clouds of powdery snow, though most of it had been reduced to slush from her furious paws. However, as she pounded along, her jade green eyes caught the subtle signs of another cat who had previously trodden over the white-spun terrain. She leaned closer, examining the intricate pawprints of what must have been a tiny kit. Her renewed anger splatted over. “Kits. Mouse-brained as any silly tom,” she muttered to herself. The newly dubbed Medicine can had never displayed much fondness or interest into either kits or toms.
The she-cat looked up abruptly, tearing herself away from her thoughts. Her eyes scoured the hazy horizon. Not far until she would approach the shores. She hastened forward, nearly stumbling over the half-frozen ground. Her claws skittered on patches of thin ice, chiseling stripes into the otherwise unmarred and clear surface. Her heavy paws smashed the even thinner ice clumps as easily as one might squash a stray beetle. Meanwhile, her tail kept whacking the frost that clung to the sparse ferns and weeds in the location.
As she walked, she continued to poke her nose into every crevice, always grumbling to herself as a spew of snow settled on it. Then she chanced upon the obviously scuffed up markings of an overly curious kit beast. A squeal of… (and she had to shudder inwardly)… laughter of all things came from nearby. Whipping her head around, she saw the maddeningly tiny figure of a bronzed-ginger kit. The kit was ambling aimlessly about until it spotted a stray leaf. Instantly, Adderstone’s neck fur rose. The female kit slowly stalked the leaf and launched itself into the air. “Nooo! Stop it! Stop this senseless laughter!” she croaked out. Then: Suppose that leaf were an herb? An incredibly vital herb that could one day save the life of a decent Warrior?
Suddenly, Adderstone discovered herself crouched near the lithe kit, one paw ready to swat her. Her muted green eyes glared ferociously. “What are you doing here? Where’s your mother?” she swiftly asked, glare still prominent on her face.
“StarClan sucks!” Adderstone sends hate messages to StarClan Adderstone fails at being a medicine cat
