Lavastar was gone, thus Iceclaw had to take the stance of being leader. Taking in a deep breath, anxiety raised over him. He has lost Jaypaw, and not Lavastar. This wasn't very good for his clan, but that was okay for Iceclaw- not Icestar was in leadership. Walking up the meeting place, Icestar yowled out. ]For everyone old enough to catch their prey, please come for this ceremony. The white time spoke out, his voice got carried out over the wind and heard throughout the camp. He watched as others came around, peering out and wondering what the new leader wanted to say. As his clan mates cam around him, Icestar spoke up. We have lost Lavastar and Jaypaw, though we are gaining two new apprentices. Rainkit, and Mosskit, please come up! He purred, as he watched Rainkit bounce out of the nursery,
her fur cleaned and smoothed out. Well, Cursedflight, Rainkit- now Rainpaw is going to be your new apprentice. I hope you'll teach her everything that you know, to make her a loyal and respectful warrior to Soulclan. Fadedstripe, you have gained Mosskit- not Mosspaw. I hope you will do the same with her as your mentor did with you; which is making her a loyal and responsible warrior. Iceclaw said, ending his announcement with a nod, as he walked away with a flick of his white tail to each of the cats that he called in the ceremony.

what am I doing? what am I saying? what am I thinking? what are they saying?
Cursedflight, in her dream state, had found herself thinking constantly of Lavastar. The two had never been friends, but still...a leader was a leader, and with Lavastar gone, that left Iceclaw, or rather, Icestar in charge. She didn't object to this; she feared the consequences; but still. There could have been better leaders. Her mind scolded her for thinking this; after all, they had spent an eventful hunting trip together, and that had filled the Clan's bellies mightily. She was friends with the tom and the little kit who had joined them later; Rainkit; but she did not let this influence her decision. She liked the tom...perhaps his leadership would go well with their friendship. Her mind, pleased with this solution to her problem, allowed her senses to regain consciousness, and she woke.
A yawn escaped her jaws. Not quite conscious...ha ha... She thought, letting a smile play its course across her face. She stretched luxuriously, only to realize that no one was in the den. She faintly heard the end of a calling for the Clan to come forth, and spectacularly ran to the entrance with a spectacular, yet miraculously unnoticed, fall on her face. She straightened up, as if unaware of her previous failure. She, still not quite awake, let Icestar drone on about Mosskit and Rainkit; she smiled at the mention of her little friends apprenticeship; and waited until he paused to let her senses regain full alertness.
Well, Cursedflight, Rainkit- now Rainpaw- is going to be your new apprentice.

Cursedflight blinked, then nearly avoided making another flop in shock. She, the cursed SoulClanner, was getting an apprentice? And out of all the possible apprentices she could have gotten, she received Rainpaw? Perhaps Icestar's friendship could be a useful thing...but Cursedflight was not the type to take advantage of anyone. She missed the next words that came out of Icestar's jaws. She just assumed that it was something about raising her well and all that. She padded over to the neatly groomed apprentice and gently touched noses with her. She had earned this; it was about time. Her playful smile had returned and now beamed across her face and eyes; she was going to train this apprentice like her life depended on it. No mythical 'curse' would ruin her life again! But what was friendship? A miracle to be given...or a prize to be won? notes;; BLEHHHHHH HAD NO MUSE AT ALLLL word count;; 407 muse;; 4/10 And yet I push you away...
